A full-bodied, rounded beer, its 7.5% ABV belies its freshness and subtle spicy notes. The finish is characterized by an elegant bitterness and a slightly dry finish, making it a dangerously drinkable beer. Its name (Malacoda is a devil from Dante's Divine Comedy) harks back to the Belgian tradition of this style, in which strong ales were given diabolical and demonic names to emphasize their high alcohol content and dangerous ease of drinking.
